WurstFest

Boulder City Sunrise Rotary’s annual Fundraiser ~ (“Fun”raiser) takes place the last weekend of September in Bicentennial Park in Boulder City. This popular and successful annual event is Sunrise Rotary’s annual fundraising project and the proceeds go back into community activities, the largest of these being the alcohol and drug free, “All Night Graduation Party” hosted for the Boulder City High School graduating seniors. Planned to keep young adults safe on graduation night, the event takes lots of manpower and costs a great deal. However, it is Sunrise Rotary's most rewarding project!

For the delight of the children there is a no charge play area overseen by Rotarians and friends.

The largest piece to this fundraiser is the Live Auction running from 4 to 6 p.m. Zany Rotarian auctioneers and spotters, add fun to this popular event with bidders always in very vocal but friendly competion to purchase the items. The 5 member Dummkopf’s German Polka band, always a treat for the crowds, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with their oom-pa music and comedy routines.  Musical artists are: Broomhilda on the keyboard, Saur on trombone, Kraut on horn, Hans Off on guitar and Otto B. Scott on drums.

The evening boasts a rockin’ good time  when the valleys top beach party band takes to Colorado  Street.  Tommy Rocker and his “Conched Out” Band (pronounced “konked” like the marine conch shell)  play the best of the Beach Boys, Bob Marley  and some good ol' rockn’ roll  combined with Jimmy Buffet's Margaretaville sounds, jokes, crowd sing alongs and just a great energized show. Bring your lawn chair or set on the grass in the surrounding parks.
