Let's Finish Eradicating Polio NOW!

Each year around the Rotary world, 35,000 new club presidents take over their clubs with one thing on their minds: "What in the heck did I sign up for?!?!?" ... "How can I use this single year to further the mission of our club and Rotary?"

As I have pondered this question, my thoughts kept returning to how close we are to accomplishing the largest public health initiative ever undertaken – the eradication of Polio. Since Rotarians took up the cause in 1985, Rotary has raised over $1.7 billion to End Polio Now. We’ve used those funds to reduce the number of annual cases from 350,000 in 125 countries (1985) to just 22 cases in 2 countries (2017). You can read much more about what Rotarians have done over the years by CLICKING HERE and CLICKING HERE.

It’s easy to think it might be time to declare victory and move onto something else, but so long as even one case exists in the world, the scourge of Polio could come raging back. We have it on the ropes and it’s time to deliver the fatal blow. I’m asking for your help to do just that. Your donation, in any amount, will be matched by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation $2 for $1. That means your $25 donation turns into $75, $100 turns into $300 and $500 turns into $1,500!! A $25 donation will be able to protect 125 children FOR LIFE from this crippling disease.

Why the vests? I figure people don’t wear them much anymore so I should garner some interest from people I meet. Plus, my loving and talented wife has agreed to make a unique vest each week for the next year. My pledge to you and every one of my fellow Rotarians is that I will spread the message of End Polio Now each and every Thursday of my Presidency. Come back to this page often to see pictures of me with the vests out in the world and get updates on our progress.

If you fill out the simple form below with your pledge, you’ll then be taken to the official Rotary End Polio Now site where you can enter your credit card information and other info to make your tax deductible donation. If you’d rather donate by check or cash – please email me by CLICKING HERE and I’ll contact you.

Thank you very much for considering a contribution!
